Air force sought anti-terror funds so generals could fly in comfort?
Q. Air force sought anti-terror funds so generals could fly in comfort by Jim Mannion Fri Jul 18, 1:39 pm et the US Air Force has sought millions of dollars in "war on terror" funds for "comfort capsules" so that the military brass can fly first class to war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan, a spokeswoman confirmed Friday. The capsules, which are loaded into the bay of a military transport plane, come with a sofa, work space, two leather seats, a flat-screen TV, ports for a satellite phone and a separate module with two bunk beds and closets, the air force spokeswoman said. Air force generals added hundreds of thousands of dollars to the costs with upgrades to leather, carpet and wood choices, according to the Project on Government… [cont.]

A. It's a criminal misuse of taxpayer monies. At 1.9 million dollars each you would think they were meant for God. I wonder if this was inspired by on Dick Chaney... it sounds like something he would dream up.

Air Force members and vets?
Q. I saw on an Obama television ad the General McPeak, Former USAF Chief of Staff is endorsing Obama's campaign. Does anyone other than Air Force members who served under McPeak or had to clean up the stench of the results of his policies understand what a joke this is? For those not associated with the Air Force, don't be fooled by the man that used to wear our uniform endorsing Obama. McPeak had to be the worst Chief or Staff in recent history. Sorry... didn't realize that I was bitching... but I'm certainly not letting you post that.

Do you believe McPeak is correct about his IQ assertion?
Q. Obama's national co-chairman, retired Gen. Merrill "Tony" McPeak, the former chief of staff of the Air Force, also raised the killing in his introduction. "The events of this morning bring back with great clarity how important these national security issues are," he said. McPeak supported President Bush in the 2000 election, but he now says Bush lacks the intelligence that Obama would return to the Oval Office. "We've been running a giant experiment in this country in the last seven years, testing the idea that it doesn't make that much difference if the guy in the White House is not that bright. And the results are in," McPeak said. "No matter what happens next January, there is going to be a big jump in the IQ in the Oval Office." Tex.… [cont.]

A. To a point. I was in the USAF when McPeak was the chief of staff, and I thought he was a full-blown idiot. A lot of his changes were reversed when the new chief of staff took over, so it looks like I wasn't the only one who thought he was an idiot. I am a Republican, and for me, the Obama is one of the few Democrats I would vote for. Not because I agree with what he says, but because I believe he wants to be a leader, a real leader. Say what you want about Bush, he is a leader. Even when he is wrong, he is leading.
