A. Estimates for number of blocks contained are around 2.5 million and each block is about 1.5 tons. The majority of the blocks were limestone, with some granite for the capstones and other areas. Not so great limestone would probably run you $150 per ton. Maybe they'd give you a discount on the 3.75 million tons you need, so probably around $500 million just for the stone, assuming you wouldn't have to haul it too far. Then, the people to put it together. Its estimated that it took on average 15,000 people working 10 hr days for 20 years. That works out to about 1 billion man hours. Even near minimum wage, you've got another $6 billion for the labor. So, I would estimate $6.5 billion as a minimum to build a duplicate, and probably… [cont.]
