A trading card (or collectible card) is a small card, usually made out of paperboard or thick paper, which usually contains an image of a certain person (fictional or real) and a short description of the picture, along with other text (statistics, attacks, or trivia). There is wide variation among different types of cards as to the configuration of objects, the content on the card, and even the material used to make the card.

Trading cards are traditionally associated with sports; baseball cards are especially well-known. Cards dealing with other subjects are often considered a separate category from sports cards, known as non-sports trading cards. These often feature cartoons, comic book characters, television series, or movie stills.

As with playing cards, which they generally resemble, trading cards are often used to play various games. In the 1990s, cards designed specifically for playing games became popular enough to develop into a distinct category of collectible card games. These tend to use either fantasy subjects or sports as the basis for gameplay.

How do I sell baseball trading cards on ebay?
Q. I have a box of 20 year old baseball trading cards that I want to sell. I'm not sure about their value but I have cards like Barry Bonds and Mark Mcgwire.(from the late 1980's) what could they be worth and how do I sell them on ebay? Is there a better place to sell them than Ebay?

A. You may be sad when you see the actual value of the cards. I can't give away cards from the 1980-2000. I set up an ebay store that lowered the cost of listing the cards... even at that you pay about $15.00 per month + .06 each to list the cards + 10% when they sell + paypal fees... Hard to make any money on $5.00 cards.

Where is the best place to sell use trading card game cards in southern nj?
Q. I live in southern nj, in the burlington county area. Me, my wife and my kids have alot of duplicates in our trading card games. My wife has pokemon cards, and me and my son have yu gi oh cards. Where is the best place around me that buys TCG cards?

A. Ok, try this. First: go to this site to see if any of the cards are worth anything (not all are): Look on the left side of the page, next to the card name, and that is the current price of that card from an actual on-line Pokemon Card store. Next: click on one of the prices. The on-line store it takes you too is actually run by someone in the Philadelphia area who buys cards in person. Contact him and find out where he will be on a given weekend (this is a great time of year because there are a lot of tournaments going on). Good luck.
