United Air Lines, Inc., trading as United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAUA), is a major airline of the United States. Even if United won't provide a voucher that pays for a hotel they should be able to give you a coupon valid for a substantial discount at an airport hotel. That is what I got from United for a 9-hour daytime layover in Chicago, but only after I specifically asked for it. Note that almost ALL airlines have reduced the "perks" that were once standard (such as a hotel room for overnight stops).
