Is there a great advantage to the academy over air force rotc or other programs? How much would it help to have a pilots license prior to entering? (i plan on applying to the academy and other colleges with air force rotc, i get mostly A's and some B's) Asked by Eric - Sat Aug 29 20:02:08 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Assuming you are accepted to both the Academy and ROTC, your chances of getting a pilot slot out of the Academy are substantially better. Pilot slots are split about equally between Academy graduates and ROTC graduates, but with so many more ROTC graduates, they have lower odds. Anywhere between 80-100% of those medically qualified who want to fly get pilot slots at the Academy depending on the year. Generally speaking however it is also more difficult to get into the Academy and the experience is naturally somewhat different. If you have any questions about the Academy though, do feel free to ask. Answered by Si - Sun Aug 30 20:41:42 2009 How do I become an Officer in the United States Air Force? Q. I just graduated High School and I would like to be an Officer so I can be a pilot. Do I enlist, go to BMT, then go to Air Force Academy to get a degree? Or do I get a degree in college, then enlist? Asked by Fevereddoc - Thu Jul 8 20:20:20 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. If your goal is to become an officer, there are really three options. 1. Get a degree on your own (either enlisted or not), then apply for Officer Candidate School (OCS). Generally it might help having enlisted experience to get one of these, but you can do it with or without. That said, there are very few slots for this available and very very difficult to go this route to become a pilot. 2. Go through college with ROTC. This gives you the options of many universities and the Air Force will pay a portion of your schooling (if you do well enough to get an ROTC scholarship). If you were going to choose this route, you would not want to enlist before beginning. You have a decent chance of getting a pilot slot from this route. 3. … [cont.] Answered by Si - Sat Jul 10 12:04:39 2010 What United states Air Force computer job best to get?

First of all to answer your last question, your scores on your ASVAB test will determine which jobs you're eligible for. So you may not be eligible for the job you want. You can request a guaranteed job in one of those you're eligible for but you might have to wait to get it. Some also have physical requirements you have to meet or you have to be eligible for a security clearance. Here's the job you're looking for. Don't worry about screwing up. You rarely get someone not capable of doing the job. As I said before the job you get depends on how well you test. The easiest jobs would be services and transportation in my opinion.
