What was the american most popular religion in 1776?
Q. I would like to know what thought provide to the american people the ideals of freedom, independence, democracy and prosperity for all americans. Thank You!

A. why do you assume that such ideals came from religion? The bible supports slavery, not freedom, subservience not independence, obedience not democracy and offers very mixed views about riches and prosperity. These ideas come from 18th Century philosophers and the enlightenment, not religion. In particular the work of Adam Smith (The Theory of Moral Sentiment, 1759 and the Weath of Nations, March 1776) seems to have influenced the American economy. Smith and many of the "founding fathers" seem to have been deists not christians. In 1776 followers of native American religion far outnumbered christians in North America, but their freedom, independence, prosperity and democratic rights were trampled on by those who claimed to uphold those… [cont.]

How much longer will our government allow American corporations to outsource American jobs oversea?
Q. We all know the underlining cause of this economic depression is job outsourcing. It is not because of the war in Iraq & Afghanistan. It is not because of the mortgage crisis. How can our government continue to give tax break to American companies that ship the livelihood of Americans offshore.

A. You have bad information. The cause of the current economic recession was the mortgage crisis! The cause of the mortgage crisis was government over and/or mis-management which was written and protected by Democrats for decades. Do some research on the community investment act enacted by Carter and later made stronger by Clinton. The community inverstment act made banks give home loans to people who could not pay them back and who otherwise could not get a loan. The government is not giving tax breaks to corporations we have the second highest corporate taxes in the world. Ireland recently lowered their corporate taxes and they have companies and jobs coming to their country in droves, at a time when the rest of the world is in a recession… [cont.]

How do American cars differ from foreign competitors?
Q. This is a hommework question for my management class on strategic planning. The question states: In your opinion, what are the core competencies in the auto industry such as GM, Chrysler, and Ford? How do these competencies help them compete with foreign makers such as Honda, Toyota, Nissan and BMW? I looked around at all their websites, and the general impression I get is that American cars seem to emphasize performance and innovative body designs. The foreign makers seem to more simplistic in body design and emphasize vehicle longevity. Do you think I'm on the right track, or do you have another suggestion? I think I need to clarify that I'm not looking for suggestions on what car to buy. This is a homework question for a… [cont.]

A. Id say thats a very US perspective. US manufacturers emphasize engine displacement (rather than technology that gets more hp and economy out of a smaller engine -the Dodge Charger Hemi is a perfect example - massive engine - pathetic power output), and frivolous extras like a million cupholders. I would say they are WAAAYYY behind in body design and performance. Four wheel drive, power steering, advanced suspension etc etc all come from europe or japan as they need to be innovate to stay ahead of the competitors. The US has effectively had a captive market for a long time through misguided patriotism (I laugh every time I see a bumper sticker urging to buy GM as its American - only 2 vehicles are entirely built (all components and… [cont.]

Public relations and the official secret, the trivializing campaign and the terrible fact clumsily accomplished, are replacing the reasoned debate of political ideas in the privately incorporated economy, the military ascendancy, and the political vacuum of modern America.
