Boxing is a combat sport and martial art in which two people fight using their fists. Boxing is typically supervised by a referee engaged in during a series of one- to three-minute intervals called rounds, and boxers generally of similar weight. There are three ways to win; if the opponent is knocked out and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds (a Knockout, or KO) or if the opponent is deemed too injured to continue (a Technical Knockout, or TKO). If there is no stoppage of the fight before an agreed number of rounds, a winner is determined either by the referee's decision or by judges' scorecards.

What are some mandatory reads for someone contemplating writing a boxing book?
Q. I plan on writing a book about the psychology of boxing. I am a therapist and boxing/fight enthusiast. I have read quite a few boxing biographies and every other boxing related book I could get my hands on. Any ideas or must-reads? Opinions or chapter ideas would be helpful also. Any similar books out there? Thanks!

boxing: Is it better to get flat floor or tiered seats in a boxing arena?
Q. I am trying to buy some boxing tickets for my husband on the internet but it alol seems so confusing, which seats are best flat floor or tiered seats? Please help I need to book them before they all go !

A. It depends on how far he is from the ring. If he is close then get on the floor, but if it is more than 20 rows from the ring go with the tiered seats. Otherwise he will have problems with people sitting in front of him, and if they stand up when something happens he can't see.

What is Boxing day and why is it called that?
Q. I always go to Ireland in summer and sometimes in winter to visit my grandparents. The day after Christmas is called Boxing day over there. What is boxing day?

A. Everyone straps on the gloves and gets in the ring! Its great! It started because the servant classes had to work on Christmas day and the day after Christmas was their day off to exchange gifts with friends and family.
