Ballet is a formalized type of performance dance, which originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century, and which was further developed in France, England, and Russia as a concert dance form. The early performances preceded the invention of the proscenium stage and were presented in large chambers with most of the audience seated on tiers or galleries on three sides of the dancing floor. It has since become a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. It is primarily performed with the accompaniment of classical music. It has been influential as a form of dance globally and is taught in ballet schools around the world, which use their own cultures and societies to inform the art. Ballet dance works (ballets) are choreographed and performed by trained artists, include mime and acting, and are set to music (usually orchestral but occasionally vocal). It is a poised style of dance that incorporates the foundational techniques for many other dance styles. This type of dancing is very hard to achieve and takes much practice to master. Ballet is very hard and known for using every muscle in the human body. Most sports critics consider ballet more complicated than any other sport even though ballet is considered a performing art. It is best known in the form of Late Romantic Ballet Blanc, which preoccupies itself with the female dancer to the exclusion of almost all else, focusing on pointe work, flowing, precise acrobatic movements, and often presenting the dancers in the conventional short white French tutu. Later developments include expressionist ballet, Neoclassical ballet, and elements of Modern dance. The etymology of the word "ballet" is related to the art form's history. The word ballet comes from the French and was borrowed into English around the 17th century. The French word in turn has its origins in Italian balletto, a diminutive of ballo (dance). Ballet ultimately traces back to Latin ballare, meaning to dance. From Wikipedia under the

What are some good excersises I could do to achieve that? Asked by Diane Depp - Sun Mar 22 13:36:08 2009 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments A. Well if you are doing pointe, I really would reccomend you doing regular ballet first, and while point. Some excercises you could d are: -(whole leg) Sitting on a chair, lift your legs in a strait line and balance something on your feet. (start with something light, and go heavier) - (thighs) With your legs in second, bounce. when it starts to get hard, thats how you know its working. Good luck! I'm twelve, I have a little less than average fexibilty and i'm 5'6.Am I to old to start and then maybe go onto pointe. I did Ballet for about a month or two but now i'm moving any tips to get a head start so i can work on it untill i can find another studio? Books, websites, just regular tips. ok i meant to say i want to eventually go onto pointe Asked by haddi - Sun Feb 15 17:02:38 2009 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. if you want to dance, go for it :) you should STRETCH, strengthen your ankles, etc. when you do combinations in class, pay close attention to all the little details, like turn out in tondus, bend ankles in plies, use inner thigh muscles in developes.. for pointe, you have to really prove that you are ready.. i mean its easier to correct a "deadly habit" (we all have them, such as not plie-ing or sitting in the heals) before going on pointe.. so just work, work, work :) Answered by Naomi - Sun Feb 15 20:43:34 2009 How do you wear animal print ballet flats?
Q. What kind and color clothes do I wear with animal print ballet flats? Can you share some tips to someone who has no sense of fashion? Asked by Rosie - Fri Jan 4 23:41:01 2008 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments A. since you are wearing a "loud" shoe go with a solid outfit. for example if you are wearing leopard print ballet flats wear a black or beige dress or wear jeans and a black shirt. if you have zebra print ones then wear all black or all white or jeans with a black or white top. just make sure not to wear more than one animal print (or any loud print) at a time because your outfit will look too busy.
