I'm taking a speech class at my university and one of the assignments is to pick out a random object, write a speech about it and read your speech infront of the class. I've been trying for two days to think of something cool, but I've failed. &It can't be a physical comparison either. It can even be food too, it just can't be a big object that I wouldn't be able to take into class. Any suggestions? Asked by Muhsmell - Sat Aug 29 00:08:49 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. A marshmallow. A bit tough on the outside, but very soft and sweet on the inside. Salad. A lot of different parts that come together for one delicious dish. An umbrella. Quiet and unassuming when not needed. But when the rain starts to pour, you are there. A pillow. Always there for someone to rest their head on. A lamp/flashlight/candle/li ghter. The work required to accelerate an object on a frictionless surface from a speed v to a speed 2v is: a) three times the work required to accelerate the object from v = 0 to v. b) not known without knowledge of the acceleration. c) four times the work required to accelerate the object from 2v to 3v. d) equal to the work required to accelerate the object from v = 0 to v. e) twice the work required to accelerate the object from v = 0 to v. Asked by geekness - Fri Mar 6 15:51:21 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Answer is A, three times. First answer is OK up to a point but answerer misread the question (in two places). Kinetic energy KE = kv^2, where k = m/2. KE1 = kv^2 KE2 = k(2v)^2 = 4kv^2 Work to go from v to 2v = KE2-KE1 = 3kv^2.
