A. not much, over the last eight years. but seriously. the major difference, of course, is that a US President has a "check" on their power by the other two branches of government, as opposed to absolute leaders, who simply make decisions and enact them.

A. duties are tasks he is required to perform as president, eg the appointment of judges, nominating secretary of state etc. powers would be at his discretion , eg to declare or wage war, it is his call as commander in chief alone.
