GNU Free Documentation License How do I get rid of the black line printing down the center of the page? Q. I have a Brother HL5250 Printer and after I print a few pages it starts printing a thick black line down the center. But after I wait a few minutes after that batch, it's fine unless I print more than 10 pages. How do I fix this? Asked by BK - Mon Feb 2 15:34:22 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. You need to have the photosynthetic drum replaced. That drum is what determines where the toner (think ink) is placed on the paper before the fuser melts it to the paper. If the drum is old, it will keep previous charges in certain areas that will give you the black lines like you mention. Once the charge wears off, 10 minutes later, it will no longer transfer that line until it starts to build up a charge again. I am seeing a cheap quote for printing something on copperplate vs offset (and a lower minimum order qty). Does printing on copperplate have a bad/ low resolution quality?
