Look up some of the historical fiction novels by GA Henty. The language is slightly archaic (they were written in the late 1800's), but the writing is just plain good and the stories are always very exciting. I'd especially recommend "The Dragon and the Raven," "In Freedom's Cause," and "A Knight of the White Cross: A Tale of the Siege of Rhodes." These books are addicting, and make you a history buff in the process. I know for sure that they're in the AR program, because they're the sole reason I won the contest at my school 3 years in a row. They're on one of the highest levels and worth tons of points. Q. It doesn't have to be vampires but that is my favorite. Are there any good books in general? Preferably not just romance unless it is really good. I have already read: Twilight series, House of Night series, True Blood series, The Mediator series, The Immortals, Vampire Academy series, Anita Blake series . I have also read The Clique series.
