What is it hurting if you do? Answered by volleyballchick (cowards block) - Thu Nov 16 23:13:02 2006 What do they mean that Obama can win the popular vote and not the electoral votes required? Q. I know that this happened to Al gore but im not sure how this works. Whats the difference between an electoral vote and popular vote? What is an electoral vote? No public campaigning for candidates please. Asked by LilLoca - Tue Nov 4 19:29:51 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. The popular vote is the vote that the people make, hence popular. When people go to the polls, and cast their vote, that goes towards the popular vote. The electoral college is made up of elected representatives, other politicians [senators and representatives in the house], that also vote for the president. Each state gets a certain number based on population. California has the most, 55, and around 6 states share the least with only 3 votes. In order for the nominee to win, they have to have at least 270 votes from the electoral college. This is why it's also very important to vote, not only for the president, but for your congressmen! Q. We need to put a stop to this president, but the U.S. Senators of the Republican party, time after time Vote for the President 85%+ of the time, and anything to do with the war or to over ride the presidents Veto, the Republican Senators have no balls to over run, this president. So this next year i'm not a Republican anymore, I will vote against the Republican party the rest of my life, which under Bush may not be much longer. How many of you feel the same way! Asked by kjokergo11 - Mon Sep 17 19:55:50 2007 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments A. I've been a Republican for half a century. I'm not going to vote for any Republican until they rid the party of the neocon vermin that has usurped it.
