Withdrawal can refer to any sort of separation, but is most commonly used to describe the group of symptoms that occurs upon the abrupt discontinuation/separation or a decrease in dosage of the intake of certain medications, recreational drugs, and/or alcohol. In order to experience the symptoms of withdrawal, one must have first developed a chemical dependence. This happens after consuming one or more of these substances for a certain period of time, which is both dose dependent and varies based upon the drug consumed. (For example; prolonged use of an anti-depressant is most likely to cause a much different reaction when discontinued than the repeated use of an opioid, such as heroin.) In fact, the route of administration, whether intravenous, intramuscular, oral or otherwise, can also play a role in determining the severity of withdrawal symptoms. There are different stages of withdrawal as well. Generally, a person will start to feel worse and worse, hit a plateau, and then the symptoms begin to dissipate. However, it is important to note that withdrawal from certain drugs (benzodiazapines, alcohol) can be fatal and therefore the abrupt discontinuation of any type of drug is not recommended. I've been taking ativan for 3 years now and I wanna try to quit but how can i avoid the withdrawal symptoms? Asked by BeHappy. - Mon Dec 15 03:25:11 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Be sure to talk to your doctor first. Sometimes they will prescribe a different medication of the same type, but one that is known to be less addictive. Also, you'll want to decide if the reason you took the medication in the first place is resolved - anxiety, sleeplessness, etc. Sometimes antidepressants reduce the need for sedatives. That may be a viable choice too. But you should do any withdrawal from long term use planning with your doctor. Go slowly and good luck. Yes - the limit would typically be 'per day', 'without notice' - typically you would be able to withdraw more (in one lump sum) if you notify them in advance Why not check with your bank (after all, it's YOUR money :-) ) Answered by Steve B - Wed Jul 23 03:44:47 2008 What is the tax rate and penalty on ESOP withdrawal ?
Q. Our company was bought and the sale finalized , the new owners are offering the employees an rollover option or an in-service distribution (withdrawal). If we choose the rollover option it will be with the same company that handles our 401k , which is not to impressive . I have been considering the withdrawal ,and would like to have an idea how much would be taken for taxes and penalty since I am under the 59 1/2 age. We are in Missouri. If you are talking about a plan where you are holding stock in your company, and you want to cash that stock in, then you will pay tax at the capital gains tax rate. That's going to be 15% maximum (Federal income tax only) on everything that you 'gain'. Money that you contributed to purchase stock is not considered a gain. So, if you put $1000 in the stock account, and it is now worth $1500, you pay tax on $500. If your own applicable tax rate is less than 15%, you'll pay tax at a lower rate. If you didn't make any contributions, and all of your stock was given to you by the company, then you'll pay tax on all of it. If it is in a qualified retirement plan, which I don't know without seeing the plan information, you may also be subject to… [cont.] Answered by Soror Kate ART VT - Sun Oct 28 15:36:22 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "withdrawal" Fans turn out for tennis tourney despite Roddick withdrawal
